    The Development of Indoor Object Recognition Tool for People with Low Vision and Blindness

    The purpose of this research was to develop methods and algorithms that could be applied as the underlying base for developing an object recognition tools. The method implemented in this research was initial problem identification, methods and algorithms testing and development, image database modeling, system development, and training and testing. As a result, the system can perform with 93,46% of accuracy for indoor object recognition. Even though the system achieves relatively high accuracy in recognizing objects, it is still limited to a single object detection and not able to recognize the object in real time

    AbstractThis research was conducted with the aim of utilizing the human hands as an object to operate computers. It is intended to support and use technologies especially in the field of education for helping teachers to do presentation with ease. The program is developed by using a science field of computer vision, as well as additional libraries which are: FLTK, OpenGL, and OpenCV. In order to use this program, the presenters need to have a webcam and a projector. The webcam will be used to recognize the shape and the pattern of the presenters’ hands. Furthermore, the program will send signals to the computers based on the recognized pattern. The result of this research is a program that can improve the teaching process of teaching/presentation

    The purpose of this research is the design and implementation of an application that allows users to play and socialize at the same time and directly with the environment around the Android-based smart phone. This application is also expected to be a campaign media for a new product or specific event. The used method consists of two ways: the methods of analysis and design. The method of analysis includes the study of literatures, questionnaires, and comparisons with similar applications. The design method used for this research is Scrum. The obtained results are an application that helps users of Android-based smart phone to do social interaction and provide knowledge about the route that users will be addressed. It is also used as a new campaign media for entrepreneurs who want to promote a product or event. Furthermore, this application is also built with interesting but not complex design, thus allowing users to easily use it. The conclusions are this application provides experience for users to visit various places and can be a media campaign for a new product or specific event. It also becomes a tool of social interaction and useful for finding location of friends

    Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan sebuah permainan pada platform PC dengan menggunakan teknologi Microsoft Kinect. Teknologi ini digunakan untuk menyediakan pengalaman bermain yang lebih baik sehingga bisa lebih menarik perhatian pengunjung pameran. Microsoft Kinect digunakan untuk mendeteksi gerakan tubuh manusia sebagai pemain. Selain itu, Kinect juga digunakan sebagai media interaksi antara aplikasi dengan pengguna. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dibagi menjadi identifikasi masalah, pengumpulan data, perancangan aplikasi, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan kuesioner, observasi, studi pustaka, dan wawancara kepada ahli. Perancangan aplikasi “Run Bobby! Food!” dilakukan dengan metode perancangan aplikasi scrum. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan dua pendekatan, yaitu kuesioner dan wawancara kepada ahli.     The purpose of this research is to create a new kind of game by using technology that rarely used in current games. It is developed as an entertainment media and also a social media in which the users can play the games together via multiplayer mode. This research uses Scrum development method since it supports small scaled developer and it supports software increment along the development. Using this game application, the users can play and watch interesting animations by controlling it with their voice, listen the character imitating the users' voice, play various mini games both in single player or multiplayer mode via Bluetooth connection. The conclusion is that game application of My Name is Dug use voice recognition and inter-devices connection as its main features. It also has various mini games that support both single player and multiplayer

    The purpose of this research is to analyze and implement a system for recording employee working time and project time, leave request, overtime request, proposal submission, and paperwork revisions registration at PT Rekayasa Engineering. Collecting information is conducted by surveys to the company, interviews with several employees in the company, and examining documents and procedures used by PT Rekayasa Engineering. The database design is created using lifecycle methodology, namely: conceptual design, logical design, and physical design. The result of this research is a database system which is designed and can be used to process operational procedures of the company and to record the working time and project needed by the PT Rekayasa Engineering. Furthermore, this research also produces a prototype application that can be used as a working model for the system. Using the new database system and the application, information needed by the company is fulfilled. Thus, it allows the company to work more effectively and efficiently

    Nowadays, smartphone has been shifted as a primary needs for majority of people. This trend is making people do activities on their smartphone such as exchange information, playing games, paying bills, discussing ideas, etc. In almost every smartphone, security features (i.e. password, pin, face unlock) are already built in which are intended to protect the data inside the smartphone. Nevertheless, those security features are not perfect and have flaws either technically or by human errors. This research aim to provide an application that uses people’ facial expressions to improve the security of smartphone, namely Android. We implement face detection and expression recognition in this application as an improvement from the existing unlock screen, which is face unlock. The results that are achieved from this research is an unlock screen application on Android devices that utilizes people’ facial expression changes to open their smartphone. This application can eliminates the technical errors from existing face unlock screen application which can be deceived by photos
